I really hope this is not the case. But Im pretty sure I have bubble algae starting in my tank. I got one 3mm sized bubble out during the ater change and stirred the sand bed trying to clean up as many as possible with the siphon. The one buddle was a green color but these other ones are in a dark brown slime. The bubbles are clear.
I had an outbreak of diatoms last week when i added new lights. That seems to be diminishing and im wondering if diatoms can actually crust over bubbles and this is what is happening and giving a false positive for dinoflagellets.
I added some GSP from my LFS and dipped in Coral RX. I added an anemone from another tank but didnt think bubble and dino could be transported on a nem.
