Bubble Algae

Bubble algae is starting to take over my tank i have it growing everywhere big and small... any solutions to get rid of this problem??

Minthrax crabs or Emerald crabs may solve your issue. Worked for me.

Emeralds never got rid of mine. I ended up taking each rock out during a water change and manually removing each bubble I saw from the rock. I then rinsed in the old water and put back in the tank. After all was done, I loaded the new water. It hasn't been back since and been over 2 months. Instead, I have had an explosion of hair algae now, go figure but I had a little of that before, so I think there was just nothing left to compete with it since I got all the bubble out...

I was just reading a thread on RC about raising your magnesium. Do a search for it. The person even provides day by day pictures to show progress.

I don't know if the Magnesium OD trick works for bubble algae, mainly for Derbesia sp hair algae, ...

My tang eats it like nori. As I toss some in the main tank, they would fight for them. Although my brother's tang doesn't think much of it.
