I had a question...I got a bubble coral. My water levels were okay...but I only have a filter not a protien skimmer or a slump...anyway...today my bubble coral seemed to be doing very very well...but all of a sudden it flipped inside almost...like the mouth is exposed and its excreting gooy brown strings...is it dying?

Not necessarily....but it seems that most bubble corals don't live for extended periods.

Usually when that happens it 's because they don't like something. It could be because it's dying or just showing its dissatisfaction.

How long have you had it?

I have had it for one day..first it deflated, now its bubbling again....for a non swimming no noise making pet it sure is picky isn't it...LOL....but it is still really deflated......maybe my filters aren't good enough

Katie, what are your params and what else is in your tank? Is it possible that your tank has not fully cycled? I have a bubble and when brown stringy stuff comes out, it is only it's waste from what it has eaten.
