hey I'm getting paid on Friday and I'm having no luck on getting my false percs to host in my hammer's I recently just got so I was looking into some bubble coral to grow in my new 24 gallon nano, its been up and running for about 2 months now and everything seems to be going smooth aside from my Aptasia problem, which I will combat very soon,

Heres my tank tell me what you think and if you have a bubble coral FS by friday let me know! I would really like to have something for the clowns to host in, not sure if there too young or what but I would like to give them many options I will also have frogspawn on thursday hopefully that works out too

tank is looking great, the clowns might not host anything your offering them, i wouldnt worry too much about it.

Aw don't say they wont host anything :crossing fingers: I want them to host something, thats why I want to give them as many options as possible, you really like my tank Jose ive been working hard on it, lol not really but I put allot of time into it, everything is pretty stock except the power head for now its some cheapo aquatic gardens because the stock flow suck. Lighting is stock and so is filteration everything seems to be comming together really well lots of life in the little tank.

Hopefully someone has a bubble coral they trying to get rid of I could trade almost anything I have for it.

try something other than a bubble coral, they might go for the frogspawn. I have a pc question ill pm you about it.

Jose

Dude looking sweet! Are those clowns tank raised or wild? If they are wild you have a little more luck of them hosting something. Eventually they will pick something so don't worry.

Jose, ill answer all your PC question's hahah I have hammers they wont go near it :( but I like the way the hammer looks so im deff gonna keep that.

JoeJoe I got these little guys from Living Sea there tank raised hopefuly they will host something I just want them to find a home they look restless hahah always swimming against the current and looking for food. I think I need something larger like bubble coral so they dive into it, I just dont want to get a BTA because of the movment I cant have that and I want to but a bunch of other things in the tank so I dont want it to be stung by a BTA.

I've had my clown for a year and a half. I've had a torch coral for just shy of a year and a half. Only a month or so ago did the clown start hosting in that same torch coral.

I know it's not the most fun advice, but maybe try to wait it out and just see what happens.

Paitence in this hobby, I hate it but I love it because things grow and develope, I really just want them to find a good home and start making some babies hahahah no but seriously I would like them to have a large number of things to host from it almost looks as if they are hosting my mag float there always rubing against it but I think that has to do alot with the water flow. So theres no way to speed up the hosting huh?

some say if u they've taped a picture of clowns hosting and theirs then decided to host.. My clown took over a year to choose something, and it decided on green mushrooms when I had plenty of other things.. including a RBTA..

Give it time.. thats all you can do. My friend has had his clowns for almost 2 years and still nothing..

My clown took close to a year to host in the carpet I bought him and then another 6 months to host in the other carpet i bought. Now he hosts both but it does take a long time sometimes.

aw we have a 47 gallon with a maroon and as soon as we put in the GBTA it jumped right in no questions asked so I guess its all with time Ill wait it out but Im still looking for a bubble Coral closest thing to a BTA in my opinon.

My clowns won't host anything except for the overflows.
They've had two different nems offered, a frogspawn, and a lot of other things and nothing.

You could try a hairy mushroom. Resemble an anenome and others on here have noted that they will host clowns. You might find it easier to place than a bubble coral.

I have a very large bubble and am planning a remodle of the tank. I can get you a frag, more than likely this weekend. This bubble is better than 12" across, and has 3 heads sure how big each one is as they belnd together well. I am about an hour + from your house though. PM me if interested

My clowns are hosting a tub of tupperware! I put the tupperware into my tank filled with rock rubble. I throw frags into the tupperware so they will attach to the rubble. It is now the clowns LOVE SHACK! BTW- I heard that bubble coral has long sweeper tentacles and like to sting other coral.

I would agree with the give it some time idea - My clowns (both false) took almost a year before they started hosting anything.

One now plays in my frogspawn, the other goes between some xenia and some zoas.

And don't freak out if your clows become "stained" as they acclimate to the corals they choose to host in - My clowns both developed black "rashes" as they developed their relationships with the the coral.

Folks in the clownfish forum say this is typical.

It's true - I got a smaller hammer frag from a local - I put it in one of my 5g mantis tanks- One of the heads had a few 2" or so tentacles that stuck the heck out of some candy canes I have in there too.

it took my false percs about 1 month to find the RBTA and my Onyx clowns went into in a day maybe because it followed my false perc but who knows
