i just recently purchased a bubble coral. I noticed that there is stringy stuff coming off of it. i was wondering if anyone knows what this is>?? Also they are not fully opening ...does anyone know >>>???please help...thanks

so is the bubble coral going to recover from this ...? what should i do...? i just bought the coral about 2 days ago...

i have it in my aquapod tank..the lighting is 1-27 watt sunpac daylight and 1- 27 watt sunpac antinic...it is under low water flow..the salinity is at 1.21,,, and everything else th nirate and so on are good...

no i saw those coming out...it a slime that is coming off...not sure what it is....plus they don't fully open up,,, maybe half open...

Is it abrown mucas looking stuff? If so, it's just expelling waste. Mine does that all of teh time and my fish actually eat it. If youv'e only had it for a few days, give it some time to get acclimated. They are very hardy corals. I have one that's a little over 6 years old now. Or should I say I've had it for a little over 6 years. ;)

There are times when he won't open and other times when he's more than fully open and looks like he's going to pop. Just give him some time. ;)

raise your salinity..1.021 is too low, it needs to be at least 1.023, but 1.025 is better.. the low salinity will stress the coral out a lot..

ok ....i just changed the salinity to 1.024...lets hope that will help also....thanks for the replys ppl...i got more corals coming tomorrow so that will help...maybe they wont be so stressed....kool
