Bubble Tip Anemone - How To Put On Size?

I have been feeding the thing mysis since it arrived. It is a split from another hobbyist. It is only about 2 inches, but I would like to get it to 6 inches before I let my clownfish anywhere near it. My concern is that overfeeding will just lead to it splitting again.

Does anyone have anecdotal evidence to support either position?

My clownfish just for attention. Still in QT, eating like pigs.

It's part of the experience of having a bubble tip: eventually, through stress or feeding, they split. Mine would grow fairly large- at least 10"-15" when extended - before splitting, unless there was a sudden change in tank conditions- broken heater, other mishaps. Bathing them in the right lighting intensity is just as important, and you can slow down to 1x weekly feeding.

My experience with BTAs is just light, and they seem to grow larger before splitting. Do a water change that exposes them to air or start feeding and they split more regularly. That’s just my experience with mine though.
