bubble tip anemone shriveled up

Need some advice. I recently purchased a bubble tip anemone. he attached himself to the back of one of my live rocks. he was expanding himself up so I could see him and feed him. A couple of days ago a turbo snail crossed his path and was poking him. I moved the snail but now the BTA is just shriveled up. See picture below. He is eating if I push food down to him.



I just did a full test and here is where everything sits
Alk - 119 (Hana Checker)
Po4 - 0.07
No3 - 10 ppm
No2 - 0
Amnion - 0
PH - 8.0
Calcium - 420

I am also having an issue with some of my well established zoa melting and some of bran new to my tank zoa melting.

any advice would be appreciated

I just had one show back up after 2 months (I have 3 large that host and stay put). Thought it was gone, but just being covert I guess! I gave up a while ago and let them do what they want to do and everything has been fine.

Can't speak for the zoa issue but as for the anemone, I'm sure he'll be fine (especially since you see him eating)... Sometimes they can get grumpy, shrivel up, then be back to normal a few days later.

They don't get grumpy, it's normal behavior. They are filled with mostly water, and occasionally (sometimes daily) they need to do a water change. It's their way of expelling waste.

When I first got my anemone I was so nervous about my parameters and became concerned after any change in shape or behavior. Flash forward a year, I have a perfectly happy bubble tip in my aquapod who hasn't had a water change in 2 months.

They go through cycles, only thing I would say is make sure you have your powerheads far away until they find a comfortable spot. I lost one of the splits to a tunzee.

I agree just give it some time. If you're worried that the snail damaged it you could stop feeding it for a week or two. Digestion takes energy that it could use to heal. But I doubt the snail did any harm.

That's what mine looks like if my alk drops below 130. Typically keep it between 150-165.
