My Maroon Clown has been living in a rubber nem now for nearly 4 years.....thought it was about time I tried her with a real one....so did some research and found out that the natural host anenome for Maroon Clowns would be the Bubble Tip...after a bit more reading I was surprised to find out how difficult these animals are to keep...I have T5 lighting(4x 54W), tank is a 120gal 60 x 18wide x 24 tall....if I positioned the BT quite high up my rockwork would this be sufficient lighting ? Then would have to wonder if my Maroon would happily live higher up her fake nem is on the tank floor....why is it Aptasia as so easy to keep and the pretty Anenemes so finnicky:headwally: So should I go for it...? (tank is 4 years old all params perfect(NO3 gets up to around 7 or 8 ppm just before weekly w/c)

Shouldn't be a difficult to keep nem since you have an established tank. nem will move around until it find a happy spot and the clown usually will follow it.

A BTA will be fine under that lighting. The maroon should jump in it immediately.

BTA's are not hard to keep at all.I've lost 1 BTA outta 50+, and that was a Rose after it split after 4 years. The clone lived fine. I've had them survive up to a month in my sump under a simple CFL for fuge.
