sell it and buy more sticks!! or set up a clownfish nem bowl. BTA are awesome but six months down the line or so you will have the same problem. Will come to a point when tank grows out that it won't be so easy to get the nem out.. Then what happens when it splits and one walks.. UGHHH!!
Take a razor and slice right down the middle. Make sure you go thru half of the mouth and half of the foot. Before this I let it set out on the cutting area/board for a minute or two to let it expel some of the water. It's easier to cut with less water.
Dip it in an iodine based solution of tank water for about 10 minutes.
Set it in a bucket of plain tank water for about 20 - 30 minutes since it will slime up some.
Put it back in the tank in a low/medium flow area for a couple of days to let it heal. After this place it back in the tank.
Don't try feeding it for a couple of weeks. It will get what it needs from the water and lights. I actually never feed my anemones, but some people do.
I let my anemones heal in these net pots/baskets. I use the 4 or 5 inch ones that I have for my orchids. I bought them at OFE International in Kendall. Make sure you use a new clean one and with the smaller holes like in the link. There are some net pots with bigger holes and allows the anemone to get out. I attach it to the tank wall where I like the flow. I use magnets or a mag-float to hold it in place. An acclimation box would probably work also, but the net pots make it very easy to get the foot off.
i have 2 green bta with bright purple tips... started life as a 2" diameter, the only coral out of 11 that survived a bad shipping experience. 6 months later, I have 2, 12-14" diameter.
