Bubble tip question

I got my bubble tip a week or two ago and let him get comfortable himself and that's where he's been since but the past two couple days he's been lurking in the sand towards the glass and this morning he was crawling up the glass to the powerhead. I'm not sure what could make it want to keep going to this spot? I don't want him to be shredded its a very beautiful purple with green tips and he is very big. Not sure what to do

BTA will invariably migrate down stream. This means that they will "home in" on the intake of your power head!
My suggestion is to try to move it someplace first and see if it sticks. If not put a bubbler into your tank. This will attract the nem and even if it goes into the bubble stream (which it will) it will not get hurt.

I would also suggest a foam cover over the powerhead for a week or so.
