bubbling algae

Why does my algae turn white and have hundreds of bubbles forming around it? Is there to little of flow? It seems to happen to that feather looking algae?

if caulerpa it might be ready to release spores and died. I would remove it before it clouds up your tank. Place it in a container with tank water if you are unsure.

I don't think that's it. Mine was growing like mad, turned white, and died back. Now it's there, just shorter. The stuff that died back is fine and healthy. Tank never clouded up, but skimmer did put out a little more than normal. Nitrates are still declining.

I'll see what happens for now. Someone told me that it could be releaseing oxygen? Don't know.
