High calcium can do this.
Do you have fish that nip?. It might be recovery from nipping, with high calcium levels?. 500+.

I have yellow tang that I know nips a bit. Not sure what my CA was then, but after running empty on balling, I guess high CA is not a present problem.
I thank you for a good idea, and will be monitoring Ca closer in the future
