I bought a complete setup 20g today that has been running about 10 months with 2 clowns, GBTA, midas blenny, fire blood shrimp, cleaner shrimp and the cleanup crew... i am picking it up tomorrow, i have four 5g buckets from home depot with lids i was thinking divide the livestock in the buckets with the tank water and rocks ????

any better suggestions...
Thanks,
Ken

And I have done both, the buckets and the bags... To tell you the truth, either will work. The only thing to keep in mind, is if it's too cold or hot (weather wise) the bags can be kept in styrofoam coolers to preserve the temp easier, wheras the buckets cannot.

Also, if you have livestock in the buckets with the rock, if the rock shifts during transport...?

GOOD LUCK and HAPPY REEFING!

I agree. Both work well, but you can do things with bags that cannot be done with buckets: styrofoam, keep specimens spearated during transport, they tend to be softer if they "slosh" hard, etc...

I moved my 20g 800 miles....everything was in its separate bag so nothing stung or got crushed. My LFS had just gotten in their shipment so they just gave me some styrofoam boxes too. That said, if it were just around town I wouldn't bother....too much work.
