Buffing glass scratches

Is it possible to buff a glass scratch from a tank?

If so, how is it done?

Really can't be done. I even saw on tv how hard it was to do.

Thanks...Someone said that it would be no problem and that caused some red flagging......good to know.

It can be done, but, unless you are in the glass polishing business, it would cost more than buying a new tank. And from what I hear, it takes longer than it would to set up the new tank.

Bill, look up the A320 MM procedure to polish windshield, your stock room should have all the supplies.

True, but the materials are expensive, it is labor intensive and most people don't have access to an airlines stores dept. If I can get my hands on a kit or 2, I will make it available to those in need.

Would a person be able to use these materials on their own and have the positive results? If so, I bet many would be interested......

If I can get the materials, I can also print out the instructions for the procedure on an aircraft windshield, the goal is the same,...to maintain optical clarity without weakening the glass. I will look into it.
