Bugs on my frogspawn..good or bad

Like alot of you.. I spend a lot of time staring at my tank.. looking at this.. examining that.. counting those

Anyway.. I spotted some Lil bugs crawling on my frogspawn today.. and there looks like a bit of new skeleton exposed with 2 little green balls at the bottom.. right over it mouth..(kinda looks like a willy lol )

Both are new today... and I haven't seen those little bugs either...

Frogspawn seems happy

I took some pics.. but my phone doesn't do the super macro shots too well to try to get a detailed shot of the bugs.. I need to get me a biggg magnify glass

Ohhh.. just Google the crap out of bugs and frogspawn... seems my frog is not happy.. (just bigger than its been in a while)
Seems "white bugs" are a known problem.. but one of those bugs on mine wasn't white.. I will treat it with the Bayer stuff like others on R.C. have done

I would suggest a dip in temperature matched ro/di (fresh) water first. Just swish it gently for 10-15 seconds and then return it to the tank. The sudden change in osmotic pressure between salt and fresh water will kill many little critters like that without harming the coral at all. If that doesn't work, Bayer would be my next choice. You might even follow the fresh dip with a Bayer dip for the double whammy on 'em

That is not a happy coral. Plus I think and its hard to tell right now because of how receded it is but I believe you have a hammer coral not a frogspawn. Either way I second dipping it. Only thing is if they are getting bothered by pest they are already in your aquarium. GL

I have read that the fresh water dip is pretty hard on corals as well...

It has never completely opened for me yet.. I've only had it a few weeks though.. and last weekend I had to change out my substrate (see my other thread about tiny glass beads substrate)
And when I changed the substrate I had to pull all my rock work.. along with a huge water change.. so it is just starting to read acclimate to the new set up.. at least that's what I think.. and I'm far from knowing **** from shinola yet

You can use seachem reef dip them. Follow the instructions and you will be fine. But again if the are in the tank you will have a hard time getting rid of them without knowing what they are.

Do you have any other corals? Have you checked paramaters?

I am getting the reef mater test kit tonight as well to check other parameters

I'm doing the Bayer dip tonight.. I'm still reading the 700 + posts of very promising results red/white bugs and aefw.. so I'm going with that

Other option is a tank bomb with interceptor... but i refuse to go that route

I reduced my flow and my FS seems happier.. but not happy yet
