I have had my current 300 gallon for 13 years until we decided to knock down and rebuild the room it was in. Now I get a chance to (almost) start over with a brand new tank. I am planning 30" wide, 24" tall and 8' long with Starfire on the front and righthand side as it will be sitting along the wall on the left and along doors to outside in the back (for easy access).
My first question is whether anyone has the recessed eurobrace? I currently have just the plan eurobrace and I heard a little bit about the recessed. Evidently it keeps water from leaking down the front? Is it as sturdy?
I'd like some help with narrowing down a few things regarding overflows and holes for returns. I would really love to put the overflow on the left side but currently my tank has that (due to cracking the tank on the right and having to remove the overflow) and I noticed that there really seems to be some stagnant areas where there is no overflow. For those with center overflow, do you have good surface movement? When I had mine on the two corners it was great.
Thanks!
