First off, I need to know where I can get some pieces of glass or acrylic for my baffles. I was thinkning 1/4" thickness, would that be enough? And second, what type of silicone do you guys use? I have heard on reefcentral that some people use GE II or something but I am not 100% sure. I do not want to poison my tank. All input will be highly appreciated!

Hey MdM, you can go to Home Depot and get acrylic sheets ...cutting it is another matter. I don't know how large your planning to build your sump but 1/4 and 3/8 is whats common. Did you check out Melv's post? He seems to be the guru for sumps and he has some great info and ideas. just google Melv's Reef and you'll find it. I think you can use the GEII as long as you give it plenty of time to cure. They do make a aquarium safe silicone, available again at HD.

thanks guys, does the aquarium safe come in a large tube so I can use it in my caulking gun?
