Building a Sump. What pump should I get?

I have a 65 gallon tank. I plan on making an acrylic weir and sump connected with a 1" diameter PVC pipe. What return pump size and brand name do you recommend? Is 1" diameter big enough?

I have a 3/4" return on my 65 gallon and a mag drive 7 pump works great.

Looking at another thread, I'm thinking of getting the Eheim 1260 which is rated at 640 gph. I don't have a good feel for this. Is this a good pump size for my 65 gallon tank and 1" drain pipe? Is the pump too big or should I just increase the drain pipe diameter?

I compared the Eheim 1260 and the Mag Drive 7.
Eheim 1260, $165, 640 gph, 65W, 6.5x8.5x4.5
Mag-Drive 7, $86, 700 gph, 70W, 5x3.8x4.2
Are Eheim's so much better than Mag-Drives?
Twice the price and much bigger too.

The impression I get is people think the eheims are more reliable.

I have no less than 6 eheims around the house. They aren't silent not because they are loud, but they tend to vibrate. I suppose some sort of insulating mat would be easy enough to get.
