I have been a aquarist for thirty years and have seen GREAT work and Crappy work, for that amount of money the hobbyist deserves 100 per cent without question satisfaction, otherwise it is not worth the time and dissappointment that will comw with knowing it is not what you thought you would recieve from a company that supposedly does excellent work. My experience with Miracles on my 3' x 3' rimless cube was not a good one. I was very disappointed with the little scratches and the plastic piece and external seams were not the best. However, the internal seams were flawless. I did find out that Miracles does not wet-test their tanks and their inspection process is cursory at best. Hopefully when you get water in it you won't notice anything.

It looks really good, never seen a rimless this big. I's going to be amazing, what light are you going to use? This tank would probably look really good with nice DIY pendants hung really high. There is a guy keeping SPS for over two years with nice DIY modules at about 36" from the tank, it look really clean...If I find the thread I'll post it.

Thanks but DIY electrical is way beyond my skill level. For lighting I am thinking of using a 6 foot 8x39 watt T5 fixture (which i have lying around) for the front half and 3-4 led fixtures for back half. Currently comparing brands such as aqua illumination and blue line.
Next step is plumbing and DIY sump out of a 125 gallon.
I have no idea if this used 125 gallon ever saw copper. Based on the looks of the trim it is very old and I know it was used for fresh water fish. I have to assume that it did see copper. What do you suggest I do to treat it to make it reef safe.

From what I've seen stated(from Randy and others) in the chemistry forum many times, wiping the sump down real good with plenty of vinegar and you should have nothing to worry about it. The silicone leaking copper is a myth.
Are you planning on any netting or any kind of cover over the tank? I ran mine topless for half a year without any fish jumping. I've since covered it with eggcrate now that I have more expensive fish in there. I've had 2 fish jump out of my QT tanks.
I apologized for the distractions from the the thread earlier.
Will you be able to slide the 125g sump into the stand?
Tank and stand is looking fantastic man.

:fish1: I have seen others netting applications and believe its a good idea but I don't want to detract from the aesthetics. I will want to easily remove it when the tank is being vIewed. I was wondering About some type of retractable device like a solar pool cover.

Well Miracles and I reached an agreement over the flaw and received $400 cash back (essentially 10%). I personally would rather not have the flaw over the money but I am hoping that once the tank is filled, it wont bother me so much. Right now, my eyes are drawn to it.
I give a big :thumbsup: to Miracles for their customer service.
The tank did have its flaws but keep in mind they:
-immediately responded to my concerns by phone and email, including offering a cell phone number to use over a weekend.
-travelled from Canada to Pennsylvania in attempts to resolve issues.
-never even questioned the possibility that the movers caused the scratches.
-provided cash refund when I was not 100% satisfied.
And YES, I would recommend Miracles and buy from them again but being better educated I would request a special inspection of glass for trapped gas dots (specifically at the surface). I would also make sure I had glass suction cups to use for the move.

However, the 1.0 inch ultra flex is out of stock so I'm using reg flex hose instead. Also, I just purchased the last 30 feet of the 1.5 inch ultra flex so I have to use a combination of ultra flex and reg flex for the 1.5 size. This should be okay though because the majority of my plumbing is straight and not going in circles. Ultra flex is 40% more flex than regular flex.

A filled aquarium has an amazing ability to switch your focus to wonderful dreams of livestock - just try to focus at work :lmao:.
I'd love to see LEDs over this bad boy, but that's just me. At least make whatever lighting you use sleek and stylish - it's the only way to do rimless justice.
