This weekend not winning the nano at the meeting, we went out and bought one.
Well I thought the new tank will need a controller too, so I gathered some parts today and built a new better controller then my last one.
The last one will move to the new tank and the old tank gets the new controller
I wanted it to control temp too but ran out of room in the box as you will see so temp is still controlled externally.
This system controls the float switches for the aqua lifter for auto top off, the circulation pumps, the fuge light, and the main lights with a timer.
The timer switches the plugs for fuge light and regular lights.
I plan to make it turn on the moon lights when the fuge lights come on but that's another days project.
Ok first the empty untouched box
Then drilled the holes for the plugs
Then installed the plugs
Then cut and installed switches.
In the final pics below, the top left switch is for pumps, (shut down during feeding)
The top right switch is for lighting override shut down (all lights off)
The bottom right switch is for autotop off ("off" when doing water changes etc, and then "auto" controlled by float switches)
The bottom right switch is override autotop-off pump ("on" regardless of float switches, for dosing)
Then added relay and other stuff and began wiring
Rear shot, you can see the power plug is a standard computer power port.
All together and ready to install and start plugging stuff in, the little plug by the sun polyps is where the float switches plug into the box.
Final resting place, done and installed
