Bulb change question

I changed out the 20k bulb for a 14k bulb. Will setting the time the light comes on back to acclimate the corals be ok? I am staying with a 175 watt MH just changing the par. The old 20K bulb was about 8 months or more old.

the reduced photo perior should do the trick if possible you could also raise the light a bit and gradually lower it back down.

if you run a magnetic ballast i would almost bet the 20k had more par than the 14k does. i wouldnt worry about it.

I used the screen method (put three screens over tank, remove one each week thereafter) when I changed bulbs and it worked well. That way my lighting height was not changed; nor the photoperiod.

I would definately acclimate. it's easy to do and better than losing something for not doing it.
