Bulging Eye on BHT

The eye on my bht is bulging out and has a white layer on it and around the edge of the eye especially. He's also got some sort of a wound under his side fin(?) and a spot on it that I don't believe is ich. What the heck is wrong with him? He is the only one in the tank that looks even slightly unhealthy. Here are some pics. Please help. I'd prefer any treatments that don't require taking her out of the tank. Any meds that I can mix with food, that won't hurt the other few fish. Thanks in advance.

What are the water params like?

Was the fish added any time recently, netted, or sustained physical enjury that you can tell?


Look into epsoms salt, I believe it to be helpfull in eye injury cases. Serach though because im not sure about application.

Also search for Pop Eye. Looks to be what it has.

is it like a thin white coating that seems to cover the entire eye? If so this is what my flame angel has at the moment- except for her eye is VERY cloudy.
I have been unable to get it to go away in a treatment tank. The way you described it though seems to be exactly what I'm dealing with. His eye doesn't seem to be quite as popped out as hers does though so thats a good thing.

Keep water parameters PERFECT. Feed a varied diet and PRAY! How long as it been cloudy for now? How long have you had the tang?

Looks like the fish may have been injured causing popeye and the wound on the side. The cloudy eye and the white spot on the fin may be a bacterial infection from the wounds. Happens a lot from netting. Sometimes the swelling will go down without medications, but it is risky not to use an antibiotic considering the eye is cloudy. I would use Maraycn-Two in quarantine. If you won't move the fish, then try a water change and putting Focus (an antiobiotic) on the food. One problem is that the other fish will eat the food and it is hard to know how much medicine to feed the sick fish.
