Bulk Buy: Part A & B & Magnesium

So i have started using brightwell aquatics part A & B as well as Magnesium. I am satisfied with the product but not with the price. I average at least $20 per 2 liter bottle for each part. I was searching around online and i found a website that sells it really cheap bulk. I can buy a 20 liter bucket (5.3 gallons) for $81.49 for part A & part B. And a 20 liter bucket for magnesium for $96.79. So this comes out to a total of $259.77 plus tax and shipping is only $12.99 for everything, even if i add heavy weight things such as salt, etc.

Getting to the main idea..part A & B come out to $8.14 per 2 liters. And magnesium comes out to $9.67 per 2 liters. So both are less than half the price if you would buy them at the store. I wanted to make a bulk buy but i am not going to need 5.3 gallons because that would last me years, so if there is anyone who uses this product or wants to get started using it then let me know and we can split the price evenly depending on how much you want.

This product is heavily concentrated and only needs to be dosed every other day. So it will probably last twice as long as a normal 2 liter bottle of part A & B would. If you dose these three things accordingly then its really all you need to add to your tank.
 
How many people are you looking for and how much do you want the buy in to be.. prob be best if you broke it down into how many people for equal amounts or how much you wanted and how much you want to sell.
 
Oceans blend is the best. The stuff from like bulkreef is just calcium and alk. The 2 part from oceans blend has trace elements and mag already in it. Even the stuff from brightwell has extra stuff it. Oceans blend is the best to use.
 
how much are ya'll paying for oceans blend? iheart and jestr i was planning on finding the most people to do this with. depending on the amount of people and how much everyone wants is how much i'll get. it doesnt matter how much. i'll be happy with anywhere from a gallon or 2 or each. i wanna get all 3 parts. but its so much cheaper to get the 5 gallon buckets of it.
 
I'm paying retail for Ocean's Blend. iirc, it's like $20/1L Set of Parts 1 and 2. I prefer Ocean's Blend because it's been around the longest and the owner uses the product in his tanks; plus, about 80% of the most beautiful tanks I've seen around town use it. Also, Ocean's Blend is locally made. Buy local, save the planet.

That said, all paths lead to Rome and screamincamaro is absolutely right BRS is the cheapest route to go and Birghtwell makes a quality product that many people swear by.

Sometimes though the cheapest route isn't always the best... I use a relatively small amount and storing 2L wouldn't be worth the savings. I think your idea of a group buy is interesting but I wonder, how will you bottle it? how will you make sure to avoid contamination when splitting the 20L?
 
i can see your concern... but if i can save over double what i would spend its worth it to me. the 5 gallons can get split into 1 gallon water jugs or any other container that was previously only used for water. im not worried about contamination as long as we are careful about the splitting procedure. one gallon of this stuff will last me close to 6 months. this is more for people who use up alot with larger tanks and more stocked tanks. if your only wanting a small amount cause of the fact that you dont want a large amount sitting around then we can do that too. and that is the main reason why i wish to do this. i dont want a five gallon bucket full of this stuff sitting around for 3 years waiting to be used.
 
so are you in if we decide to do this? any concerns or anything about this? it just makes alot of sense cause over the course of a years it could save us alot of money. if we can get enough people in we can maybe do a gallon each for everyone. and then just redue the order whenever we need to. some people will use more than others and we can just base it off of that. i have a 90 gallon and you have a 180... so you will probably use twice as much as me... so if anything you can get 2 gallons of it while other people may only get 1 or so. but still one gallons worth will be under 20 dollars. compared to the 40 or so you would pay at the store.
 
I want to see if there are any other poeple hop in. Might just want a gallon of each and see how it does I don't know the shelf life is or how concentraded these are
 
yea i agree. im not sure on this either and thats why we need more people to jump in. if we can get five people then we can just split it a gallon a piece. when i include tax and shipping it would comes out to about $58 a person. this would be a gallon of part a, gallon of part b, and gallon of magnesion. and i think they have a promotion of $25 off when you spend 150. so that would even save everyone another $5. i think this is a great deal if anyone wants to join.
 
so we are looking at about an estimate of $55 a person for:

1 gallon Part A
1 gallon Part B
1 gallon of Magnesion

cost at lfs: 20x3x2=120+tax= $128.40
