Bulkhead spacing

Hey guys,

I'm about to drill my acrylic 180gal tank to make it RR and I was curious as to how much space needs to be between bulkheads? The bulkheads are 1" and I plan on having two (one for standpipe and one for return). I've read both 1/2" and 1.5" between the bulkheads and also the same distance from the edge of the tank ?

Also, I'm assuming its cool to drill the bottom of an acrylic tank?

Rule of thumb for glass tanks is touse the diameter of the hole being drilled for spacing.

what about acrylic?

I dont have that much space in my overflow area and would like to add a hole

I don't know, but I'd guess acrylic is more forgiving than glass. Call your tank manufacturer they sould know.
