Bulkheads? (And tank move-help in Haines City?)

So the tank move is looming very close (Tuesday!) and I am down to the last nuts and bolts...

We're set to load around 4:30, putting me back in Haines City around 7pm.

Looking at the bulkheads, I wonder if it would be remotely possible to leave them in place and rest the tank on 4x4s to move it in the truck? It would make lifting it easier as well.

Thoughts?

Anyone wanna come out and help set it in place that evening?

I would remove them and replace them. Especially since it looks like there maybe problems with them from the repairs. It looks like they used silicone on the inside threads. On the one what looks to be 1" it looks like they used teflon on the ouside thread. The outside thread maybe worn or they may have tightend it down to much were it popped the threads. Anyway to be safe a few extra dollars can go a long way.

I would agree on the replacement also. Definately remove them for the move, not worth the risk of shattering the bottom. Most LFS's carry the replacement and they aren't terribly expensive.

ok, ok, ok. :) They are coming from AquaticEcosystems, and will be here tomorrow. I sure hope I got the right ones. (2 1" and 2 1 1/2")

We'll know for sure tomorrow. :) If they aren't we can get some at Aquatropics just to make sure you leave with the right ones!

Thanks to everyone who helped us at both ends of the move. The only problems we encountered where the wrong size bulkheads (we will get the correct ones tomorrow) and a small issue with the rental truck keys. Danielle was going to stay while they got everything loaded up while I headed home to work on getting things ready to move in. I had backed the rental into the driveway for Danielle. I got within 15 miles of the house and stopped by Lowes. When I reached into my pocket I had the keys for the truck. Danielle had to make an emergency run to get a new key cut. It cost us an hour of time. Thanks to all of the help at the house for sticking around to get it moved in. I felt bad for keeping you out so late since you drove in from Orlando. It seems that every tank move has to have at least one or two problems. Thankfully it didn't involve shattered glass or injuries.

Sounds like everything made the trip ok?

Good to hear! Thanks for the Clowns, it appears that Eric is going to give them to me. :)
