Bulkheads - type/quality

For schedule 40 ABS type bulkheads, are there any that are more preferable to others; if so, what dealers on the net have them.

For e.g., what about these:

The big bolt/nut looks like it would be easy to tighten, etc.

I always use the heavy duty schedule 80 bulkheads:

I assume by definition a schedule 80 bulkhead won't work with schedule 40 pipe, or is that wrong?

They work fine with schedule 40 pvc pipe.

I prefer the sch 80 also. They work fine with sch 40 pipe since the OD is the same.

Schedule 80 bulkheads will work with standard pipe. Main difference is that they take a bigger hole than their counterpart Schedule 40 bulkheads because they are thicker. A 3/4" Sch. 80 bulkhead might have a 1 1/2" hole needed, and a 3/4" Sch. 40 bulkhead might need a 1 1/4 hole.

Schedule 80 bulkheads are not necessary, IME, in standard installations. I have three reef ready tanks over 200 gallons each, all plumbed with Schedule 40 bulkheads, and I have never had a leaker.

Most problems with Schedule 40 bulkheads, IME, result from hobbyists over torquing them and cracking them, either when installing the bulkheads or screwing threaded fittings into them.
