Buried Zoos??

I recently moved, and 4 days ago I found 2 zoo frags that had been buried under the sandbed for about 3 days. Only 1 of the polyps have opened. Are these dead. Any suggestions?

no, i doubt they are dead. just give them a few days to get back in the swing of things.

if they are dead from being under the sand they will be black and smell really bad if you take them out of the water

i moved a zoa rock around from the sandbed up higher. The zoas recovered that were under the sand, they were under there for a month or so i think. they may have got some light every now and then.

If you have a decent clean up crew they will let you know if they are dead because they will eat them.
