Yes, but who do you check with? Petland will swear up and down that they don't purchase from puppymills, but boy howdy, do they ever. It can be hard to know for sure, and I've never met a reputable breeder that would consider giving the puppies they bred to a third party who had more interest in revenue than bettering the breed.

i would normally agree with you on the breeder comment, but when i was a young lad my dalmation had a litter of puppies. my parents who didn't know the first thing about selling them decided to give two puppies to a local pet store that was in a mall. trust me all the puppies were well taken care of by us and had all shots and were registered by the FIC.

but knowing what i know now, i would have never done that in the past and will never do that again. but to the store that is trying to sell them, if someone comes in and says they have puppies they are trying to sell and need help, they will usually just take the dogs without asking any questions.

I stopped by on the way home just to snoop and they have a full size adult Borbonius Anthias. Nice fish! They just got a shipment in today of everything.

i've been there twice and both times never has anybody ever come up to me to ask me if i had any questions or if i wanted to make a purchase. this is the only place i've ever been to that has done this. I was actually interested in making a purchase the second time around.

I think it depends on the number of employees on the sales floor, how busy they are, if helping other customers, etc. I've gone into wet pets straight from work covered in dirt, grease, with ripped jeans and a hoodie and been asked by multiple employees if I needed assistance.

Every time I go into the Burtons in Irwin I feel like one of the hundreds of aptasia are going to jump out of the tank and try to go home to mine. Honestly I don't know why they bother to waste the money keeping their tanks running.

One thing they are guilty of is being understaffed at times. Sometimes I stop by and it's Brian, his mother at the register and maybe one other employee and there are like 12 people in the store. I don't know it may just be me but when I shop, I'm the opposite. I just want people to leave me alone and I'll let you know when I need something. Lowes started this crap now and you can't walk 5 ft without someone saying "Hi, can I help you find something?" I don't want to socialize just want to get my $#%* get out. K I'm done..

Atlantis on 51 is by far my favorite LFS. The owner is great, very knowledgable, and not just looking to make a sale. I recommend everyone visit there and support them.
