Since the pump on my nano cube went out and I was unable to find another one that would fit into the space in the black plastic box that sticks onto the inside back of the tank, I decided to use a powerhead with oscellator. It provides so much more room and I am certainely getting more flow. Without the box, you could see the wires etc out the back of the tank. I took the plunge and pulled the tank out and painted the back glass midnight blue, like my 35. It looks awesome. Now to rearrange my liverock, zoas and mushrooms. Several mushrooms had detatched and I placed them on small pieces of liverock and tied bridal veil around the rock. They will hopefully reattach in a few days. Also fed "Manny" a krill today. He really showed out trying to get off the wooden skewer. Will try and set up my camera and tripod and get a pic next time I feed him. I am getting a little anxious about my 2 week vacation next month, but have a fellow reefer who will be coming out daily. We did the same last year and it turned out great.
For those of you who hate lugging around 5 gallon buckets of water through your house, I found the perfect solution. I bought a luggage cart at Goodwill for less than $3. It works great. I set the full bucket on the cart, secure the lid and pull the cart from the bathroom to the computer room, where I have my tank. Also great for lugging those full buckets of water to the shower after water change. It has made my life much easier. I can do a 10 gallon water change in less than 15 minutes now.
I also bleached out everything in the quarentine tank I had copper in, as well as the tank itself. I have left in in bleach water all day and plan to set up a regular quarentine tank without the copper. Plan to use this as a propogation tank as well as quarentine.
