How do I get frag these?...

100_1378.jpg

They are taking up prime SPS real estate and their just ugly. Any on know how to frag these if possible? Should I take a razor to them? Can I just cut them and glue them to some rubble? will whats left of them grow back?

-thanks

It looks like they are all attached to a piece of rubble on there. You might be able to just pop it off. Otherwise if you can take the rock out you could use a dremel with a cutting wheel to cut them out of the rock.

theres no way I can take to rock out without tearing down the left side of my tank and putting a lot of corals and a large LTA in jeporady.

Most of these things grow prolifically! Ask Minh!! I'd say simply place rubble rock in it's path (all around the polyps-touching them) and wait a few. They will quickly spread onto the rubble and there you have it! If you want a more immediate solution, many folks simply use a sharp instrument to make a surgical slice at the lower most part of the polyp desired (almost where 2 polyps join), but YOU MUST WEAR GLOVES AND DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE! It is reported that these guys harbor the most vile and noxious toxin know to humanity....nasty stuff. Having said that, I've not had a problem, but better safe than sorry.....right? Good luck!

I would do what WeeReef Master said. I would put some rubbles around it, let some grow on the rubble, and then remove those rubble. What is left should be killed. You can use a syringe inject it with lemon juice or just epoxy the part that they are on. There isn't a simple way to just remove it - short of breaking the rock. If you use a razor to cut it, you do risk killing it. It's also difficult to accurately cut it while it's in the tank.

I inject them with a hypodermic full of Kalk slurry. Same with ricordea that get too close to my SPS. Of course this will kill them, but I'm sure I could give you a frag to replace the loss.
