Butyl Caulking - Coral Safe?

I'm building a DIY HDPE Panel Plywood tank and I've used Butyl Caulking. Does anyone know of someone who has had success with corals that used Butyl Caulking instead of silicone? I used WhiteLighting that you can find at Menards (USA).

So, I guess no one has any experience with Butyl Caulking? I've heard it used in liquid rubber/glass installations. I guess I could be the first. :crazy1:
