Buy or trade for a Mag 5

I have a used Mag 7 I bought here on RC that's too much flow for my needs so I'm looking to either trade it for a Mag 5 or buy a used Mag 5 if anyone has one available.

Not sure if you'd want my Mag 5...it's getting pretty old, but once it fires up, it runs like a champ. I could trade you a green/brown acro or zoas or something with the pump for the Mag 7 if you're interested...

I just checked - I have a Mag 5 sitting on my shelf. Its open so I must have used it but it looks like its in great shape.

I think you bought the overflow box from me - so you are close by if you wanted to come over to check it out and water test it. I would either trade it for the mag 7 or consider selling it (but I prefer a trade since it is what i would use as a backup if my pump goes out)

Just buy a impeller for a mag 5 and put it in the mag 7 pump. If i remember its the same housing and only difference between them is the impeller. I dont remember where i saw that, it was on here some time ago.

I'm looking for a pump. Would a mag 7 work in my basement sump with about 10 foot of head? If so I might be interested in buying from you.

At 10 feet, you wouldn't have any pressure at all with a Mag 7. You're probably going to want a high pressure pump (not the same thing as high flow) for that kind of head height.

superstein61: Yup, I bought the overflow. If the Mag5 impeller doesn't work, I'll either do the trade or purchase with you.
