Buying a return pump...

I'm setting up a 120 gal DT with a 60 gal sump. I'm going to have a fuge in the sump, would like the ability to add a UV sterilizer, and couple reactors. The sump will be located directly below the tank, and I would like for it to be internal. What advice as far as pump do you guys have? Are there any real benefits to internal over external? My thought is less plumbing outside a 'tank' less chance for leak.

The only difference there really is as far as external/internal that I can really tell is external usually has more head pressure, but with your sump being directly below the tank in the stand you need not worry about that. You could prolly get a Jeboa DCT pump so you can adjust it with more flow the more you add to it like reactors etc.

What size, in GPH, should I look for?

id go with the dc pump also ive had mine for around 2 years and it works great. for your tank id go with the 9000 and turn it down.

I would say get the 12000 or even the 15000. Im a believer in having too much and not needing it rather than needing more and not having it. You can dial it down or up according to your needs when you add or take away reactors etc.

A other reason for an external pump is to minimize heat transfer to the water. Probably not an issue though if you go DC.

I looked at moving to DC when I move my sump to the basement, but the DC can't handle the head I'll have.
