buying leds

hey guys,
Ive been out of the game for a while. My tanks pretty much just been going along at status quo for years now. Not planning on doing anything significant until I move again but am looking into LEDs for my 3' 90gal reef tank. Currently, I've just got soft corals (giant toadstool, a gazillion mushrooms of multiple varieties, and a blanket of kenya trees. Eventually I'll get back into some lps. Not likely to ever to hard corals, a clam would be the highest end in terms of lighting but im not even sure about that.

My T5s are adding way too much heat to the room the tank is currently in which is the major reason for any switch.

What would be the most cost effective solution(s) I should look into for any future change? I havent much of a clue on brands anymore and am not picky.

TIA

I've been using (2) OceanRevive Arctic S026 full spectrum LED fixtures over my 4' 90 gal. reef for about 1-1/2 years. Very nice budget fixtures. If I didn't find these fixtures at there cost, I'd probably still be running MH and extra fans during the summer. The have a newer model with built in timers, too. They're both dimmable, just not controllable. You can check them out in their sponsor section or visit their website.

A little more cost but personally I would go with Kessil's for what you are doing, the reason for this being that they will give you great color and shimmer. You wouldn't need to have the controller as you could just use the adjustment knobs and put them on a timer. I supplement my display with Kessil's simply because of the look they give the tank (they are supplementing Hydra 52's). The ocean revives are probably the most bang for your buck however, the only reason I suggest the kessil is a used kessil is not too steep and the extra pop it gives your tank is worthwhile to me.

Just my opinion, however as said the ocean revives are a great value and a proven light as well.

Thanks for the feedback guys. If I was to get the oceanrevive T247s, is one going to cut it (with the ability to add another later) or am I going to have to run 2?

Thanks!!

I'm not familiar with that model, try asking this on their sponsor section. They usually answer Pretty quickly.
