Buying of livestock on Ebay

All I have bought on eBay so far that is live were some snails. They are ok, not great though. What kind of "livestock" are you looking at buying on the ol' ebay?

I bought some zoos a few months back and they all lived and are doing great. I even got a small baby xenia on one of the rocks that lived and is now about 5" tall.

i've been reluctant to do so. though there are likely a few conscientious and professional dealers on ebay, there are also a bunch of yayhoos peddling their wares. you have no real way of knowing who is who, until the deal is done. and if you lose, good luck trying to pursue it. it's worth a little extra to me to order from an established distributor such as foster & smith who will stand behind their products, and still believe the customer is right.

Like everything else on ebay. Its a coin toss. Do some research on the person if your going to try. And order small first. good luck.

A friend of mine often sells fish on Ebay, and he's one of the best aquarists I know. On the other hand, I sometimes see auctions listed by a local wholesaler whose operation is filthy to say the least.

So it's kind of hit and miss. Asking the seller questions to see if they know what they're talking about is a very good idea.
