Buying saltwater

I buy salt water at lfs for water changes and the salinity is always lower than anyone recommend 1.019 Is there a reason for this

Your local LFS might not be checking their salinity that often, cause they find it that its a waste of time... My LFS always checks the salinity in the water I'm about to buy from him to ensure me that he keeps his RO/DI water right...

Your LFS must not want to provide good water !!!

I would recommend letting them know and maybe they will do something about it, maybe even correct the problem

mix your own....dont trust the water from the LFS...u dont know where it came from and how bad\good it is

That is true unless you have a reliable LFS, Like I said mine is always on top of his water that he sells, I think that makes for a great LFS, If you ask me...

I dont think that that is true at all. I work at the LFS and I see how we make it. We use a huge R/O system and i add salt to the water to make sure its accurate. So do all the LFSs in town. Just my 2 cents
Matt

i dont mean to belittle LFS at all...i'm just saying that if you dont test the water you are buying, you don't know what you're getting.
