Buying Water

I buy water from Clearwater Systems in the Akron area. I have really bad hair algae.

Does anyone else use there water and are you having success or failure with it?

I'm trying to fix the problem with adding Phosban in a reactor. I really have no option to install a RO/DI because I'm on well water and my well water is not that good. Any suggestions from the locals.

Thanks for the help!

You need to invest in a RO/DI unit. The stuff from Clearwater is good to drink, but isn't DI. Their water is more than likely one of the culprits to HA. Lighting and feeding habits also add to the pot.

I'm in the country, so I have a well. We do have a softener, so the water quality isn't that bad going to my RO/DI unit. Around 10 PPM before DI and 0-2 PPM after. I have yet to check the water pre softened and before RO.

You could run your Clearwater water through a stand alone DI cartdridge. Kinda getto but I dont think you have to have pressure to get through the DI cartridge. You could set it up to gravity feed your RO water through the DI cartridge and then into your topoff resevoir. Could even use a small powerhead to pump the RO water through. Then once you get a RO unit you could move the DI filter over to it. My .02 HTH
