that sucks and all but are you sure that they are bubbletips?? bubbletips dont eat healthy fish their sting is barely powerful enough to give them a little pain but certainly in no way shape or form kill them unless they are sick and dying fish that have no strength. bubbletip anemones are not predatory they feed on small food particles and the waste excreted by clownfish in the wild. in the home aquaria people feed them meaty foods like fish, shrimp, and squid in order to have they grow QUICKER and BIGGER.
so are you 100% sure that the anemone ate them? if so did you watch it happen?? or do you just assume that they died and the only place they could have gone is in the anemone's stomach?
i suspect it is either a different anemone not a bubbletip if the fish were in fact eaten.
or that the fish did not acclimate well and for what ever reason the fish had very little strength and was going to die whether it hit the anemone or not.
I bought a very small Crested Oyster Goby almost two weeks ago. I've seen him exactly 5 times since I put him in the tank. He has found a place in the rock that he calls home. I see him every few days. He's grown and is healthy. Because he's the smallest thing in the tank I was worried about him. He can obviously take care of himself. All that is to say, check the tank when the lights go down; it's possible they have both carved out a home for themselves and are getting comfortable.
