Byropsis and Red Turf Algae

Can anyone point in the right direction to get rid of this stuff? My hermit and emerald crabs don't see to touch it.:worried2:

Some things I have read said that increasing the Magnesium levels will help. Is this true?

Increasing the magnesium level to over 1600 has been successful for many people in getting rid of bryopsis. This was the only way that I was able to get rid of it in my tank.

What Magnesium supplement did you use?

it has to be kent brand and it takes alot of it good luck

get the tec m i think its the onley one kent makes how big is your tank ?

+1 on the kent brand magnesium. You will have to raise it to about 1600 and maintain it for couple of days.

A buddy of mine had a red turf problem. He read up on it and put a few of those large mexican turbos in his 14g biocube and it was pretty much all gone within a few days. One person that had this work also had a huge tank like yours(maybe around 200g) As far as briopsis I will second the kent magnesium. Good luck!
