I have a new crocea and it hasnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t attached or even made an attempt to attach in over a week. If you are looking at the byssus gland opening, I see old threads and what appears to be a tube like structure that has filaments inside it.
Is this new threads or is it a damaged gland?
Can you see the gland or is this inside the clam under the opening membrane?
If it is a damaged gland how long can a clam live before you will see a decline in health?
What does a damaged byssus gland look like? What are you looking for?
Thanks in advance. Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m kind of new to the clam end of the hobby, I have only just started keeping them , any help will be appreciated.
