hi guys. ive been working with carole to get the new design on the C-sea shirts ready. Its sitll the octopus. the problem was, the original artist i guess wouldnt/couldnt get her the picture file

so we had an outline of it in a horrible quality drawing of it, and i been digitally painting it since

c-sealogo.jpg

need to complete it by am of friday. Can you guys give me any feedback thus far? what to change etc? she said i need to add thicker outlines and make it darker which is no problem and of corse the text

thanks in advance guys

Try making the eyes smaller and solid. Also pay attention to the suction cups as the arms twist, they need to fade in and out smoother. IMHO

hi there everyone. Carole was finally able to get in touch with me ( for those who don't know, i moved to naples florida). I am the origanal creator of this shirt design. unfortunetly i have not been able to locate the box (im living out of boxes, until we get everything unpacked) that contains all my disk. it is high on my priority list now, so that i can get it to you guys by tommorro, or saturday.. if all else fails i will try to get the same design, done up by the end of the weekend...

take care and dont let that snow get you down, i know im not:D

jason,

she said she needs it by AM of friday..now im curious, how did you do that logo? graphics tablet like im doing?

oh, and um..lol you spelled cleveland wrong

if youve seriuosly got it, dude thatd help a TON im swamped right now in graphics projects..if not just say so, cause ill shoot my hours at it tonite

The head looks alot like a helment and not so much like an octopus. And i think that the biggest problem is the eye's they scare me. HTH, Tim

yea the eyes make or break the whole drawing..i see what you mean about the helmet, can be fixed

im gonna make this as good as i can if jason cant get his up here quick enough...even if he does, i think ill keep working on it just for fun, but color it

It takes 7 to 10 business days for the printers to make up the shirts. I had hoped to have the shirts by the next meeting, but I can push that back if it means a better design. Take your time Jason & Nick.

eh im used to workin on crazy deadlines..dont worry about it on my end carole, ill have it later this evening..haha I HOPE...7-10 days though, even if it takes me til tmr or this weekend we should still have neough time no?

"10 business days" would mean two weeks of real time, but if we're lucky and they can do it in 7 I'll have the shirts by Fri 2/24. Go ahead and work on it over the weekend.

Actually, the March meeting is 2 days before the frag swap. My goal was to have the shirts available to members before the swap, so technically we have another month. Take your time.

Thanks again Nick & Jason.

I would much rather see a line drawing like the original instead of trying to shade anything since the shirts will most likely be screen-printed and the shading will mostly be lost. I like the original drawing and since it will be available I would vote for letting Jason find it and just correct the one letter in the text.

On another note, how are things in Naples Jason? I only got to meet you once at the frag-athon and there wasn't any time to talk then. I am the guy who grew up in Florida and my wife and I were talking about buying your live rock.
Did you find a decent job and apartment/house?

Hope you find that logo. Nick I appreciate the work you are doing but I would just like the best looking logo possible without getting into those big, sweaty iron-on type transfers which is what you would need to show the details you are adding.

Just my 2 cents

-- Kevin

oh i totlaly understand..actually i have the original sketch, and adobe illustrator CS2, so i could easily convert it to a simple vector graphic for screenprint

the logo i SAW was nicely shaded and texturized which i really liked, i just wish i had the experience to replicate it

while we have to worry about the snow, you'll have to worry about getting beat down by a mob of bluehairs with canes. i'll take the snow :) nice hearing from you, and thanks for the efferts.

ok guys ...didnt touch the eyes much, but fixed the helmet problem..also as kevin suggested, a screen print version

the screenprint is basically this "live paint" option in illustrator, and im manually fixing details

ok guys, little bit of an update

problem arose when i thought itd be fun to color it....i colored on the wrong layer and got set back, but heres what it turned out

What if you made the eye more like a ellipse shape that would run horiaontal to the bottom of the image. Would it be possible to see that? Thanks, Tim

i get making it more eclipse like, can you be alittle more clear? bottom of the image?

anythings possible tim lol this is the stuff i love to do
