I have a reasea max s 400 and it run off a c skim 1200 skimmer an the skimmer not foaming at all. It's just clear water running Thur the neck. I tryed my air valve an it still no change n the skimmer.

Did it used to work ok? If so, my guess would be that something is stuck in the needlwheel impeller which draws the air in.

There is also a manual online, with common problems and issues. Google it and download the manual. Failing that, there is a red sea forum, you might want to try your post in there.

Clear every step of the airline. Check the pump volute, air lines, make sure impeller is rotating free. I blow throught the airline of my pump to make sure it's clear. Hope this helps.
Good luck

uploadfromtaptalk1409197467211.jpgsorry... I don't know if this is a new skimmer but this lever needs to be in this position for foam. If the arrow on the lever points up that cleans the neck. Arrow down to change the cup without shutting the pump off. The other lever in the photo raises and lowers the foam in the window.

You should see the foam but won't see much skim. I suggest running the foam low in the window for the first couple of weeks while the skimmer breaks in. The skimmer will be very inconsistent and overflow and fill the collection cup during the break in period. It's easier to unplug the black drain and let the skimmer continuously overflow back into the tank for the first couple weeks while it breaks in. If it's a new tank there's not much to skim. It takes a while to get it working but don't give up because it will work good once the tank starts to stabilize. The little grey round knob on the right side below the collection cup adjusts the airflow, turn it all the way to the left max airflow and then use the red gate valve to get the foam halfway up the window. Use the lever on the outflow of the skimmer to make fine adjustments on the height of the foam in the window.
