I'm about to purchase a C02 tank but I searched this forum and didnt get the info I needed and was wondering if people can post what it costs to fill their C02 tanks and how many pounds their tank are vs swapping their empty tanks for a filled one.

1) Cheapest new 10lb tank and where
a) Cost to fill a 10 lb tank

2) Cheapest used 10lb tank and where
a) Cost to swap an empty 10lb tank for a filled tank

3) Cheapest new 20lb Tank and where
a) Cost to fill a 20lb tank

4) Cheapest used 20lb tank and where
a) Cost to swap an empty 20lb tank for a filled tank

Im sure this post will help future local reefers on whether to purchase a new C02 tank or a used tank to swap out and the price difference comparerd to a 10lb or 20lb tank.

Not easy for me to get my tank refilled but real easy to get the empty swapped for a full one. So buying a new tank that's real pretty is a pain in the rear when it comes time to get it filled.

I go to this place called California Tool & Welding Supply. It's located in the city of Riverside, address is 201 N. Main, 92501. Phone # is
(951) 686-7822. (Between the 60 FWY and 10 FWY) Last time I had my 10lb. tank filled it cost me $9.53. I've been going there for the longest time without a problem. Great people, too.

cthetoy: Take your tank down to Mountain View Paintball off Rochester just south of Foothill on the left side. Not sure what they'll charge you to refill your CO2 but it's close.

Paintball shop do ***** fill from a larger bottle so I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t think they would be able to fill larger tank to its max, if at all. Not to mention most paintball shop charge $5 for a 20oz bottle. Most welding ship can fill or swap bottle for you.

I was reading up on kegorators (special fridge for beer kegs) and they suggested some fire extinguisher re-fill places could fill your C02 bottle. The website I was looking at suggested average price of $10-15 to refill a 5lb tank.

It'd suck to have a nice aluminum C02 bottle and then have to swap it out for a cruddy steel one.

Airgas down on 4th street just west of Hermosa has the best price in town. IME, your better off buying\renting it and then swaping it out. I pay about 9.00 to swap my 10 pounder.

I just called Airgas in Rancho Cucamonga and they have a 10lb used for $84 and 20lb for $103. Swap for 10lb is $15 and 20lb for $20. They do not fill personal C02. In pomona they fill personal co2 tanks for $22 for 10lb abd $28 for 20lb but you have to leave it for the day.

do you guys think it is worth it to have a 5 or 10 pound tank?

If space allows get the largest Co2 tank you can get. To fill a 5lb tank vs a 10lb or even a 20lb tank is just a few dollars more. Its the labor for the person to fill your tank that costs the most.
