cabo san lucas beach sand

does anyone happen to know if the sand from the beaches of Cabo San Lucas is comprised of aragonite or silica?

Although I've never seen it, I can assure you it's almost definitely silica based. However, that doesn't mean that it's useless for a reef tank.

The thing you have to remember most of all, Is that if you collect sand near the shore, You will be collected unwanted pollutants. Sand collection needs to be collected in deeper areas, of at least 25ft deep. This is just based on what I have read. Take it for what its worth.
