Hello!
I'm in the process of setting up a 28 gallon Deep Blue rimless SPS reef tank. My initial plan was to run the Reef Octopus 110SSS skimmer, however an opportunity to buy the CAD Light PLS-100 skimmer has presented itself, and I can get a fairly good price on it. All of the reviews that I've read regarding this skimmer are positive but I just wanted to get a quick review from anybody who has ran this skimmer. The way that I'm look at it, both skimmers are rated for ~80-120 gallons. The RO has a much larger body than the CAD, which makes me wonder if the CAD skimmer may be more appropriately sized in terms of diameter for this size aquarium. Also, running the CAD skimmer (roughly 4x4) would allow me more room should I decide to run zeovit and/or a GFO/carbon reactor in via Phosban.
The tank won't be set up for a few months but I'm in the preliminary planning for this reef, but I've ordered the tank (20x20x16), and the sump (ICECAP 15) so far.
Please let me know what your thoughts are regarding the skimmer. Reef Octopus 110SSS vs the CAD Light PLS-100 skimmer.
