Cadlights Versa 42

I do. I have the Versa 42G. Quality is very good; glass is nice and thick, stand well made. My issues are that there are no instructions whatsoever to put the stand together or to connect the overflow to the sump. Youre pretty much left on your own. I had to contact Cadlights to get directions on the stand, and was sent a very hard to follow manual, where I was left with one piece of wood where I have no idea to put it. There are also 5 screws left that were never mentioned in the directions. Im afraid to put the tank on and especially to fill it with water, fearing that there's not enough support for all that weight. Right now im at a standstill since this is a weekend and a holiday, and there's no phone to call, and will probably have to wait till Tuesday to get an answer.

Thank you for your input john. As long as the glass and stand are good quality I'll struggle through the building process. Have any pictures you can put up?

They said only a few have shipped out so far. That 42 looks like a really nice setup though. I was thinking about a Fusion 40 but I would love to have a drilled tank instead.

Anyone know what the size of the drain and return bulkheads and PVC pipe are for this tank? . For some reason, the person I spoke to doesn't seem to know...

Wow, very hard to find real information on this tank from end users. Can you guys that have one give us some updates?

I have one setup and running. I think it is a pretty awesome tank so far. I only have a few complaints about the tank, and have been trying to find other people that have this tank to find out if they have experienced the same issues. However, 10/10 would buy this tank again because so far it has been awesome and I love the look of it.

- I have read multiple threads where people have a hard time getting the plumbing fit into the overflow box. If you trim the "T" fitting or the elbow that connects to the "T" it helps eliminate this. NOTE: Do not glue your fittings that go into the overflow prior to test fitting them in with all the plumbing.
- I keep getting a buildup of oily residue on the surface of the display tank. I think it is due to the small teeth in the overflow. I upgraded the return pump to a 900gph pump to see if more flow solved this issue, but with the standard plumbing this has not resolved the issue. This is the one I am curious if other users are having. I do have lots of surface agitation and an Maxspect XF-130 gyre pump in there pushing lots of water around so I don't think flow is my issue.

Those are really the only 2 things I have found to be problematic. I love the height inside the stand and the rimless sump that comes with the tank.

Lyscer, I'm looking at the 42 gallon versa as well. How is your tank doing? Did you ever figure out the oily residue problem? Do you have any pics? What other equipment did you select to go with it?

Hi Everyone,
I seen photos of the inside of the cabinet of the 42 versa series and some of the photos show a center brace in the front of the cabinet and some do not show. Does it need this brace or is the stand structurally sound to hold the weight of the tank, rocks, sand etc without this brace?
