Cal/ Alk

My calcium and alkalinity stay at about 400 ppm Calcium and 2.0 Meq L of Alkalinity. My question: Is this an acceptable range to keep most SPS under. The reason I ask is because I have started to see some recession on some of my coral mainly Acroporas and encrusting Montiporas. I was wondering if I should elevate my alkalinity or both my alk and cal? I have checked the reef chemistry calculator and my cal and alk seem to be in balance but something just does not seem right.

Other parameters:
Nitrite-0
Ammonia-0
PH 8.1 to 8.2
Nitrate- less than 5 ppm
Mag-1300

210 gallon tank
Water flow
I have 3 1200 gallon closed loops on the tank and 800 gph on my sump return.

In ballance just means that the two levels are the same level higher or lower then NSW.

I shoot for 9.0 Dkh alk, and 425 PPM CA, this is also in ballance.

I think NSW is 7.0 DKH, and big problems have been had by many when they drop much below that.

Sorry, I don't know what these numbers translate to in meq/l

Divide dKH by 2.8 to get meq/l

Good info! Thanks.

You definitally need to raise your ALK, then raise your CA to keep them both in ballance.
