Alk read .3 dkh Cal read 2500ppm added 400 ml of Red Sea mag and it is back to normal

Calcium and Alk have and delicately balanced inverse relationship. High Alk can lead to low Calcium and vice-versa. Adding Mag, I wouldn't think would have corrected that. How were you testing? My guess would be testing error.

I know if you screw up the water chemistry enough you can get calcium carbonate precipitation. But it wont go back in solution at normal reef tank pH.

I was using the Aqua forest test kits. I have a very large sandbed and I have not been dosing except to correct levels.
