Calcium Chloride and kalk

You can use both. Calcium chloride is the ingredient for Part 1 of Randy's 2 part: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php#2
He recommends the second recipe if you are also using kalk.
I use kalk in my ATO, but since I need slightly more calcium than it provides and I find that reef crystals mixes to a little lower calcium levels than I like, I add calcium chloride to my change water at every water change. I know I will probably eventually need to go to 2 part dosing in addition to kalk, but its working for now.
