My 150g has been up for 5 months, and my calcium is finally come down (was at 700....nobody could explain why it was so high).. I need to start a dosing system, but not sure how I want to do it. I have mostly stonies that have been doing a good job of sucking the calcium up.. Alk is at 10-11 dkh.. any good suggestions?

My preferred method of cal/alk supplementation is BRS two part fed by BRS dosing pumps controlled by a ReefKeeper lite. Been pretty much foolproof for me.

Kalk run from your ATO (1 tsp per gallon in a tightly-lidded and gasketed (for the hose exit) bucket ---will get you started, but that is the ultimate solution, imho, only for a reef under 100 gallons. You will ultimately need a calcium reactor. Look that up on our supply and equipment sponsors and they'll explain how it works. Here is a link to my explanation of Kalk usage. http://reefcentral.com/forums/blog.php?b=107

yeah.. i know how the calcium reactor works, and i might be able to find room for it underneath.. but Ive heard some bad stories with it as well... If they go heywire, they can destroy your tank. I am eventually going to have to take the reactor step.. I still have alot of room for corals...

For now, Im loosing about 20ppm a week.. what would be the best supplement for right now? I am dosing with reef buffer to keep my alk up
